The Epic Battle: Fox News vs. CNN

Fox News has always been known to be more conservative while CNN leaning liberal. Well now, it’s more blatant than ever.

Today while watching The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer on CNN, they were discussing Sarah Palin possibly becoming a contributor on Fox News. One of the CNN contributors said she would fit right with “all the ignorant right wingers over at Fox News.”

Oh no he didn’t!

Now I will be the first to point out the many problems with Sarah Palin and the image she gives the Republican Party, and let’s just say I was not first in line to buy her book that just came out in stores, but it’s not what this CNN contributor said about Sarah Palin, but something deeper.

Is CNN calling war on Fox News?

Now I will also be the first to point out that Fox News is blatantly conservative and it too has its problems (like why is almost every woman news anchor blonde? It creepily reminds me of the Stepford Wives). And do I think that journalism should remain neutral? Yes. But that changes when the mainstream media such as CNN leans liberal, the conservatives need a place to get their news, their side, and more importantly, hear about matters that are of concern to them.

Let’s look at an example: Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D) has recently been called out for his negative description of President Obama in his new book about the 2008 presidential election Game Change. Reid described President Obama as “light-skinned” with “no Negro dialect.”

Oops.

But on 60 Minutes, another source of mainstream news, they seem to forget about that part when advertising his book. It is not mentioned until Fox News and Republicans call it out and THEN other networks such as CNN jumped on the bandwagon and started reporting about it.

The point is, if the mainstream media is going to lean liberal as it is now, then conservatives need a place to go to as well, and they find that in Fox News. If Fox News is not going to report about these issues that matter to conservatives, then who is?

Now normally as a conservative I have been perfectly content to watch CNN, but what did I do after hearing that CNN contributor’s comment? I switched over to those ignorant right wingers and began watching Glenn Beck.

Fox News: +1 viewer CNN: -1 viewer

I think Fox News can gear up for battle.

And that’s my two cents.
